Born and raised in New York City to Cape Verdean parents, Anané’s multicultural heritage is at the core of her distinct sound, blending African rhythms, Brazilian beats, soul, disco, and house music. From her start in the vibrant NYC nightlife scene, she quickly earned a reputation for her genre-blurring DJ sets and magnetic presence behind the decks. Anané’s music career took flight through her collaborations with influential DJs and producers, most notably with her husband, Louie Vega, as part of the legendary group Elements of Life.
