AZUCAR

AZUCAR is a collaborative art collective founded in 2019 by multidisciplinary artists Marisol Torres and Diego Fernández, whose work blends the bold vibrancy of Latinx culture with contemporary practices in illustration, mural painting, and installation. Drawing inspiration from their Mexican and Cuban roots, AZUCAR’s projects evoke themes of diaspora, community, and transformation, often weaving together folkloric symbolism, abstract forms, and lush color palettes. Over the past several years, the duo has exhibited widely across North America and Europe, creating large-scale public artworks, immersive installations, and participatory workshops that seek to spark dialogue and celebrate cultural resilience.

Rooted in a socially engaged ethos, AZUCAR uses art as a platform for connection—uniting diverse audiences through playful visuals, dynamic storytelling, and a celebration of collective identity.
