Emerging from the Southern California underground scene in the late '90s, Baseck (born Michael Pearson) established a reputation for wild, improvisational live sets that blend elements of breakcore, electro, acid, jungle, and industrial, often performed solely with hardware gear and drum machines. An integral part of crews like Darkmatter Soundsystem and the now-legendary mashup parties at The Smell, he has been a champion of DIY ethos and experimental electronics throughout his career.
