Confidence Man is an Australian electro-pop duo comprised of Janet Planet (Grace Stephenson) and Sugar Bones (Aidan Moore). Emerging from the vibrant indie scene in Brisbane, they formed in 2016 and quickly built a reputation for infectious dance beats, flamboyant performances, and tongue-in-cheek lyrics. Behind the scenes, the group is supported by Reggie Goodchild (Sam Hales) and Clarence McGuffie (Lewis Stephenson), who remain masked during live shows, adding to the group’s playful mystique.
After releasing their debut singles "Bubblegum" and "Boyfriend (Repeat)," Confidence Man found immediate support from tastemakers and landed festival spots around the world. Their first album, *Confident Music For Confident People* (2018), received critical acclaim for its irreverence and catchy hooks, leading to sold-out tours in Europe, the UK, and Australia. Confidence Man’s follow-up, *Tilt* (2022), demonstrated a maturing sound with clubbier influences, earning the band new audiences and remix collaborations with iconic electronic acts like Joe Goddard and Daniel Avery.
Their blend of irrepressible energy, offbeat humor, and high-energy, costume-heavy shows make them a favorite on the international festival circuit, including performances at Glastonbury, Primavera Sound, and Coachella. Through their unfiltered approach to dance music and performance art, Confidence Man continue to be a refreshing, boundary-pushing force in contemporary pop and electronic music.
