Deep Dish is the world-renowned DJ and production duo comprised of Ali "Dubfire" Shirazinia and Sharam Tayebi. Both hailing from Iran, they met in Washington D.C.
in the early 1990s and quickly formed a partnership that would leave an indelible mark on electronic dance music. Fusing house, techno, and progressive sounds, Deep Dish became synonymous with genre-defying sets and meticulously crafted productions. Their groundbreaking remix work for heavyweights such as Madonna, Janet Jackson, and The Rolling Stones, as well as original productions like “Future of the Future (Stay Gold)” with Everything But The Girl, catapulted them into the global spotlight.
In 2002, their debut album *Junk Science* showcased their sophisticated, cinematic style and included seminal tracks such as “Flashdance” and “Say Hello,” both of which received worldwide acclaim and topped dance charts. Winners of the 2002 Grammy Award for Best Remixed Recording for their remix of Dido’s “Thank You,” Deep Dish are recognized for their contributions to dance music, both in the studio and behind the decks. Their DJ sets, including their legendary Global Underground mixes, have taken them to the world’s biggest festivals and club nights, consistently pushing musical boundaries and inspiring new generations of electronic artists.
After pursuing successful solo careers from the mid-2000s, with Dubfire delving into minimal and techno and Sharam exploring a diverse palette of house and electronic sounds, the duo reunited for select performances, bringing their innovative blend of beats and melodies back to the forefront. Deep Dish’s dynamic collaboration and groundbreaking vision continue to shape the evolution of dance music.
