Efterklang Profile Image

Efterklang

Efterklang is an experimental indie rock group hailing from Copenhagen, Denmark, initially formed in 2000 by Mads Brauer, Casper Clausen, and Rasmus Stolberg. Characterized by their innovative blend of cinematic orchestration, electronic textures, and ethereal pop melodies, Efterklang has evolved continuously throughout their career. Their early work, such as the acclaimed debut album "Tripper" (2004), reflected an ambient and post-rock sensibility, while later albums including "Parades" (2007) and "Magic Chairs" (2010) showcased a richer, more orchestral and melodic direction.

Following the release of "Piramida" (2012), inspired by their visit to an abandoned Russian settlement in Svalbard, Efterklang took an exploratory hiatus, collaborating with various artists and launching the project Liima with Finnish percussionist Tatu Rönkkö. Efterklang returned in 2019 with "Altid Sammen," their first album sung entirely in Danish, reaffirming their reputation for pushing creative boundaries while maintaining an emotive, communal spirit in both their recordings and live performances. Over more than two decades, Efterklang has established themselves as one of Denmark’s most adventurous and internationally respected musical acts, celebrated for their sonic imagination, collaborative ethos, and deep sense of place and nostalgia embedded in their music.
