Eli Keszler is an American musician, composer, producer, and visual artist based in New York City. Renowned for his virtuosic experimental drumming, Keszler integrates elements of free improvisation, contemporary classical composition, and electronic music, often using custom percussion setups and prepared installations. Since emerging in the late 2000s, he has released critically acclaimed solo albums such as *Iconic Storage*, *Stadium*, and *Last Signs of Speed* on labels including Shelter Press and PAN.
Keszler’s work often explores architectural acoustics, using the physical properties of spaces as part of his compositions. His installations and performances have appeared in venues and museums worldwide, including the Whitney Museum of American Art, Lincoln Center, MoMA PS1, and the Barbican Centre. An in-demand collaborator, Keszler has worked with a diverse array of artists, including Laurel Halo, Oren Ambarchi, Oneohtrix Point Never (contributing to the Grammy-nominated *Age Of* and other projects), as well as members of the group Red Hot Chili Peppers and experimental ensembles.
Balancing intense rhythmic complexity with minimal atmospheres, his music often blurs boundaries between the organic and the mechanical. Outside of music, Keszler is also recognized for his visual art, exhibiting drawings and multimedia works that share an affinity with his sonic explorations. Over his career, he has received accolades for expanding the language of percussion and contemporary sound art, establishing himself as one of the most innovative voices in experimental music today.
