Fuck Buttons are an experimental electronic music duo from Bristol, United Kingdom, formed in 2004 by Andrew Hung and Benjamin John Power. Renowned for their powerful, immersive soundscapes, the pair fuse elements of noise, drone, ambient, and post-rock, creating an intense and euphoric blend that has captivated listeners and critics alike. Their debut album, "Street Horrrsing" (2008), produced by Mogwai’s John Cummings, garnered widespread acclaim for its adventurous spirit and cathartic energy, followed by the equally lauded "Tarot Sport" (2009), produced by Andrew Weatherall.
Their music frequently employs distorted synthesizers, tribal drumming, and ecstatic, wordless vocals, building what critics have described as monumental walls of sound. Over their career, Fuck Buttons have earned a reputation for exhilarating live performances and have notably contributed music to the 2012 London Olympics opening ceremony. After three studio albums—including "Slow Focus" (2013), which became their most successful release to date—the duo went on hiatus, with both members pursuing their own projects while maintaining an enduring influence on the wider noise and electronic scenes.
