Fundido is the collaborative project of artists Mariana López and Daniel Herrera, established in Mexico City in 2017. Their multidisciplinary practice spans sculpture, installation, sound, and performance, frequently exploring the transformative properties of materials and the intersection of sensory experiences. Drawing inspiration from Mexican craft traditions, industrial processes, and the unpredictable nature of alchemical change, Fundido interrogates themes of memory, impermanence, and the porous boundaries between organic and artificial realms.
Their work has been exhibited in numerous group and solo exhibitions across Latin America, the United States, and Europe, earning recognition for their innovative approaches to form and their immersive, participatory environments. Through their inquiry into the material and immaterial, López and Herrera invite audiences to reconsider the possibilities of everyday substances and the dynamism inherent in acts of making and unmaking.
