Gabber Eleganza, the alias of Italian artist and music curator Alberto Guerrini, has forged a dynamic presence at the intersection of rave culture, contemporary art, and experimental sound. Emerging from Milan’s vibrant underground, Gabber Eleganza’s work is a fusion of hardcore dance music—especially gabber, a fast and abrasive subgenre born in the Netherlands in the 1990s—with the aesthetics and discourse of modern art. Through immersive DJ sets and multidisciplinary performances, Gabber Eleganza recontextualizes the raw energy and communal spirit of rave music, bringing it into galleries, festivals, and unconventional venues across Europe and beyond.
His flagship project, **“The Hakke Show,”** seamlessly blends high-speed beats, live dance, and audiovisual installations to celebrate—and interrogate—the rituals of dance floor ecstasy. In addition to live performances, Guerrini runs the label and platform **Never Sleep**, championing experimental electronic releases and zines that explore the connections between music, visual arts, and subcultural history. His photographic and curatorial work documents the vibrancy of hardcore and rave scenes, earning him exhibitions at institutions such as the Berlin Museum of Photography and Fondazione Prada.
Gabber Eleganza’s artistic practice bridges generational and stylistic divides, presenting hardcore music not only as a sonic experience but also as a vehicle for social commentary and creative exploration. His output continues to evolve, continually challenging the boundaries separating the dancefloor from the art world.
