Grace Thompson is a contemporary visual artist whose evocative works explore the intersection of memory, landscape, and emotion. Born in 1987 in Portland, Oregon, Thompson developed an early fascination with the natural world and its capacity to reflect inner states of being. After earning a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design and later completing her MFA at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, she honed a unique style that seamlessly blends painting, printmaking, and installation.
Thompson’s art often features ethereal color palettes and layered textures, inviting viewers into contemplative spaces that evoke a sense of nostalgia and quiet introspection. Her work has been exhibited in solo and group shows across the United States, including venues such as the Portland Art Museum and the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago. Thompson has also been recognized with several artist residencies and awards for her innovative approach to landscape and abstraction.
Currently based in Seattle, she continues to push the boundaries of her practice, drawing inspiration from the changing terrain of the Pacific Northwest and her ongoing inquiry into the complexities of place, memory, and identity.
