KARLITA

KARLITA is a multidisciplinary artist whose evocative works span painting, sculpture, and digital media. Born in Mexico City and currently based in Los Angeles, KARLITA draws on her bicultural heritage to explore themes of identity, memory, and transformation. Her use of vibrant color palettes and organic forms creates immersive visual experiences that invite viewers to confront both the personal and collective stories embedded in everyday life.

Since graduating with honors from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, KARLITA has exhibited internationally, with her work featured in galleries from Berlin and Buenos Aires to New York City. Her installations often incorporate found materials and participatory elements, blurring the line between artist and audience. Recognized for her innovative approach to storytelling, KARLITA has received residencies at the Banff Centre and Art Omi, as well as grants from major foundations supporting emerging Latinx artists.

Through her art, KARLITA continually challenges perceptions, nurturing dialogue about migration, belonging, and cultural hybridity in a rapidly changing world.
