Moderat

Moderat is a collaborative electronic music supergroup formed in Berlin, Germany, consisting of Sascha Ring (Apparat) and Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary (Modeselektor). Their partnership began in 2002, when the trio’s mutual respect for each other’s work in Berlin’s vibrant club scene led them to blend Ring’s emotive, melodic sensibilities with Modeselektor’s bass-heavy, experimental productions. After releasing their debut "Auf Kosten der Gesundheit" EP in 2003, Moderat took a hiatus, returning in 2009 with their self-titled album "Moderat.

" The record established their distinct balance of intricate beats, powerful vocals, and atmospheric soundscapes, gaining widespread acclaim in the electronic and alternative music scenes. Their dynamic live shows and innovative visuals set them apart, making them a staple at major festivals worldwide. Following the success of their first full-length album, Moderat released "II" (2013) and "III" (2016), each expanding upon their textured sound, merging elements of techno, IDM, and pop with introspective songwriting.

Their tracks, such as "Bad Kingdom" and "A New Error," have become anthems for the genre, praised for both their dancefloor energy and emotional impact. In 2017, after extensive touring and global recognition, Moderat announced a hiatus, allowing its members to focus on individual projects before reuniting in 2022 with their fourth album, "MORE D4TA." The project reaffirmed their status as innovators in electronic music, continuing to push boundaries and inspire audiences with their compelling fusion of sonic experimentation and human emotion.
