Born Mustafa Gündoğdu in Hagen, Germany, in 1966, Mousse T. is a pioneering DJ, producer, and remixer celebrated for his deep house roots and infectiously groovy productions. He began his musical journey in the late 1980s as a keyboardist and soon transitioned into DJ-ing, quickly carving out a niche in Germany’s burgeoning club scene.
In 1993, he co-founded Peppermint Jam Records with Errol Rennalls, which became a launching pad for soulful house acts and Mousse T.’s own innovative sounds. Mousse T.
achieved international acclaim with the 1998 hit “Horny,” featuring Hot ‘n’ Juicy, a crossover anthem that topped charts worldwide. His remix and production work continued to garner attention, leading to collaborations with artists such as Tom Jones (“Sex Bomb”), Moloko, and Bootsy Collins. He is renowned for blending classic house with elements of funk, soul, and pop, a style that brought him a Grammy nomination and sustained popularity on the global club circuit.
