Pei Up

Pei Up is an interdisciplinary artist whose work navigates the intersection of contemporary visual culture, urban landscapes, and social commentary. Born in 1992 in Shanghai and currently based in Berlin, Pei Up draws upon experiences of cultural displacement and adaptation, often weaving vibrant colors, bold forms, and found materials into expansive multimedia installations and street interventions. Their art explores themes of identity, surveillance, technology, and the commodification of everyday life, inviting audiences to reconsider their relationship with both public and private spaces.

Since earning a Master of Fine Arts from the Berlin University of the Arts in 2018, Pei Up has exhibited internationally in galleries, alternative spaces, and public domains, with notable solo exhibitions in Paris, Beijing, and São Paulo. The artist’s practice is characterized by a playful yet critical engagement with the systems that shape collective memory and individual perception, and their works frequently ignite conversations about belonging, transformation, and resistance in an ever-evolving global landscape.
