Tayo is a multidisciplinary artist hailing from the United Kingdom whose work navigates the intersections of cultural identity, memory, and urban experience. Drawing inspiration from both the vibrant streetscapes of London and their Nigerian heritage, Tayo fuses traditional motifs with contemporary techniques, producing striking visual narratives across painting, mixed-media installations, and digital art. Since earning a degree in Fine Art from Goldsmiths, University of London, Tayo has exhibited widely in group and solo exhibitions, including recent showings at the Tate Modern Project Space and Camden Arts Centre.
Their practice is characterized by textured surfaces, bold color palettes, and layered symbolism that invite the viewer to interrogate the boundaries between personal story and collective history. Motivated by a desire to foster dialogue around identity and belonging, Tayo has also facilitated community workshops and collaborated with grassroots organizations, furthering their commitment to art as a catalyst for social engagement and transformation.
