Trance Wax is the alias of Belfast DJ and producer Garry McCartney, who is also known for his house and techno work as Ejeca. Initially launched as an anonymous project in 2016, Trance Wax started as a series of white-label vinyl-only edits sampling classic trance tracks from the late '90s and early 2000s. The project quickly gained underground acclaim, with support from key figures such as Bicep and widespread radio play from the likes of BBC Radio 1.
Fuelled by nostalgia and a love for trance’s euphoric soundscapes, Trance Wax has evolved into a live act and an in-demand DJ, performing at major festivals and clubs across Europe. In 2020, he released his self-titled debut album on Anjunabeats, blending remixed classics with original productions that honored the genre’s golden era yet sounded fresh and contemporary. His music is characterized by sweeping melodies, breakbeats, lush pads, and uplifting builds, connecting with both long-time trance enthusiasts and a new generation of ravers.
Balancing reverence for the past with a clear modern aesthetic, Trance Wax remains at the forefront of the trance revival movement.
