INFO

Motion Bristol is one of the United Kingdom’s most renowned nightclubs and music venues, famed for its cavernous warehouse space and groundbreaking contribution to the electronic music landscape. Housed in a former skate park and network of old industrial buildings sprawling alongside the River Avon, the venue first opened its doors in 2006. Since then, Motion has evolved from a local underground hangout into an internationally recognized hub of nightlife and culture, drawing crowds from across the globe.
The club’s original industrial character has been preserved even as it underwent numerous refurbishments, with clever use of the venue’s multiple rooms and outdoor space to accommodate a variety of musical styles, from techno and house to drum & bass, hip-hop, and indie concerts. Over the years, Motion has achieved a revered status, consistently ranking in DJ Mag’s list of the world’s top nightclubs, and has played a key role in shaping Bristol's vibrant nightlife and music scene. Its continued success lies in its ability to adapt and expand, exemplified by changes in its layout and the addition of the open-air club space called The Yard, which allows for outdoor performances and festivals during the summer months.
This flexibility has ensured Motion’s place at the cutting edge of UK club culture, demonstrating resilience even amid development pressures and shifting party trends. Notable artists who have performed at Motion Bristol include international stars such as Carl Cox, Fatboy Slim, Annie Mac, Four Tet, Nina Kraviz, Andy C, Bicep, The Chemical Brothers, Peggy Gou, and Charlotte de Witte. The venue has also supported local and national talent, with performances from Bristol’s own Roni Size, Eats Everything, My Nu Leng, and Redlight, as well as rising acts and renowned collectives from across the UK’s rich electronic music tapestry.
