The Cause is a renowned nightclub and cultural institution based in North London, United Kingdom, originally established in Tottenham in 2018. Founded by Stuart Glen and Eugene Wild, The Cause quickly distinguished itself within the capital’s vibrant nightlife scene for its community-first ethos, grassroots energy, and a strong commitment to supporting social causes, particularly mental health charities and local initiatives. Housed initially in a former mechanic’s depot, the club became synonymous with an open-minded and inclusive environment, attracting a diverse crowd drawn to its DIY spirit, eclectic programming, and commitment to fostering underground electronic music.
The venue was celebrated for its raw, industrial aesthetic, often transforming its multi-room layout and courtyard with innovative stage designs and immersive art installations. Over time, The Cause developed a reputation as one of London’s most beloved independent nightspots, earning awards and acclaim for its anti-commercial, community-driven model during a period when many other independent clubs faced closure or gentrification. The venue marked its closure at its original Ashley Road location in early 2022 with an emotional farewell, but later announced its resurgence—first with temporary pop-up events such as "Possibility Space" in Silvertown, then with the establishment of a new permanent multi-venue hub in Canning Town.

Notable artists who have performed at The Cause include renowned international DJs and producers such as Ben UFO, Helena Hauff, Marcel Dettmann, Peach, Nastia, Jane Fitz, Special Request, and Saoirse, alongside a wealth of respected UK talent like Shy One, OK Williams, Moxie, Or:la, Josey Rebelle, Call Super, and Midland, as well as collectives and residents such as Adonis, Homobloc, Keep Hush, and He.She.
