Apu Nanu, an innovative force in the global electronic music scene, has carved a unique niche through an audacious blend of deep house, organic electronica, and native South Asian rhythms. Born in Kathmandu and now based between Berlin and Mumbai, Apu's sonic journey began in the maze-like alleys of Patan, collecting field recordings and learning tabla from local masters. These early experiences ignited a passion for fusion that fuels every one of his carefully woven sets.

Known for his genre-fluid, narrative-driven performances, Apu Nanu’s ascent began after winning a national DJ competition in Nepal. His subsequent EP, “Echoes from the Pagoda,” was lauded by tastemakers from Mixmag Asia to Resident Advisor for its seamless marriage of modular synths with Himalayan folk samples. Whether headlining rooftop parties in Mumbai, underground raves in Berlin, or international festivals like Fusion and Sunburn, Apu’s music transcends borders, weaving familiar nostalgia with futuristic beats.

As a resident curator at Berlin’s storied club Kater Blau and co-founder of the cross-continental party series “Diaspora Vibes,” Apu Nanu champions underrepresented voices and sonic cultures. His collaborative spirit is evident in remixes for artists from Turkey to Brazil, and recent live A/V sets with traditional Nepali instrumentalists. Constantly exploring the edges of rhythm and ritual, Apu Nanu continues to shape the next wave of boundary-breaking electronic music.
