Andy Jenkinson, better known as Ceephax Acid Crew, is an English electronic musician and DJ recognized for his exuberant, retro-infused acid house, techno, and jungle music. Emerging from Chelmsford, Essex, Ceephax began experimenting with music as a teenager in the late 1990s, inspired by the gear-heavy, squelchy acid sound of the late ‘80s and early ‘90s. True to his DIY ethos, he became renowned for using classic Roland hardware—including the TB-303, TR-909, TR-707, and SH-101—eschewing computers in favor of live, improvised performances.
Ceephax’s first record appeared in 1998 on Breakin' Records, quickly followed by releases on Planet Mu and his eponymous Ceephax Acid Crew label, cementing his place in the acid revivalist movement. Throughout the 2000s, Andy’s prolific output spanned 12-inch singles, full-length albums, and inventive EPs, such as *Radiotin*, *Ceephax Acid Crews Vol. 1 & 2*, *United Acid Emirates*, and *Camelot Arcade*.
His distinctive style—blending rave nostalgia, breakbeat, and tongue-in-cheek humor—extends to his music videos and live sets, which often feature visually glitchy, VHS-inspired projections. Ceephax’s energetic stage presence and playful approach have earned him loyal fans across Europe and beyond. As the younger brother of Tom Jenkinson (Squarepusher), he has developed his own niche, resisting trends in favor of analog authenticity and unfiltered creativity.
His enduring commitment to hardware and passion for acid music continue to inspire new generations of producers and ravers alike.
