Born and raised in Chicago, DJ Taye (Dante Sanders) emerged as one of the most innovative producers and DJs in the city’s world-renowned footwork scene. As a teenager, he became affiliated with the influential Teklife crew, quickly gaining recognition for his soulful, melodic approach to the fast-paced and rhythmically complex footwork genre. Fusing elements of hip-hop, R&B, jazz, and electronic music, Taye pushed the boundaries of the sound with both his solo releases and collaborations.

By his early twenties, Taye had already released a series of acclaimed EPs, and in 2018, he released his debut full-length album, *Still Trippin’*, on Hyperdub Records. The album garnered international attention and demonstrated his versatility, as he deftly blended traditional footwork rhythms with experimental production and showcased his skills as both a producer and rapper. Taye continued to tour extensively, performing at major festivals and clubs across North America, Europe, and Asia, helping to bring Chicago footwork to a global audience.
