Funken

Funken is an interdisciplinary artist collective founded in 2017 by Sofia Martin and Linus Brandt, whose collaborative practice merges experimental soundscapes, interactive installations, and visual media. Drawing from their backgrounds in electronic music production, sculpture, and coding, Funken crafts immersive environments that invite audiences to engage with technological disruption and sensory perception. The duo’s work often explores the intersection of analog nostalgia and digital futurism, using recycled materials and custom-programmed devices to question ideas of connectivity and memory in the information age.

Funken has exhibited internationally, including shows at Transmediale Berlin, MUTEK Montreal, and the Istanbul Design Biennial, and their installations have been commissioned by art institutions and cultural festivals across Europe and North America. The collective continues to push boundaries by collaborating with dancers, poets, and technologists, fusing traditional craftsmanship with cutting-edge innovation to produce work that resonates on both experiential and conceptual levels.
