Gretchen Bazooka

Gretchen Bazooka is a contemporary multimedia artist whose dynamic and playful work explores themes of identity, nostalgia, and cultural transformation. Born in San Diego in 1993, Bazooka’s creative journey began with early explorations into street art and DIY zine culture, influences that still resonate in her vibrant, layered compositions. She holds a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design, where she honed her skills in painting, collage, and digital media, developing an instantly recognizable style that juxtaposes bold colors, retro iconography, and surreal humor.

Gretchen’s works have been exhibited internationally in both group and solo shows, including at the New Museum in New York and Gallery Nucleus in Los Angeles, earning her acclaim for her sharp wit and inventive visual narratives. Outside the studio, she is an active advocate for arts education and frequently collaborates on community-based mural projects. Gretchen currently lives and works in Los Angeles, where she continues to blur the lines between fine art, pop culture, and activism.
