Human Rias

Human Rias is an innovative multidisciplinary artist whose work spans painting, digital media, performance, and sound design. Born in 1991, they emerged from the vibrant underground art scene of Istanbul before relocating to Berlin, where their practice evolved through collaborations with experimental musicians, choreographers, and visual artists. Rias’s artistic approach centers on the liminal spaces between human and machine, exploring themes of identity, memory, and transformation.

Their installations and audiovisual pieces have been exhibited in international galleries and festivals, including CTM Festival and Transmediale, earning recognition for their immersive environments and thought-provoking commentary on technological mediation. Drawing from their background in architecture as well as a deep engagement with queer theory, Human Rias constructs multisensory experiences that invite viewers to reflect on the permeability of bodies and borders in a rapidly shifting world.
