John Glass

John Glass is an American multidisciplinary artist known for his evocative exploration of memory, landscape, and transformation through painting, mixed media, and installation. Born in 1980 in Des Moines, Iowa, Glass developed an early appreciation for texture and form inspired by the expansive Midwestern terrain and the interplay of light across wide-open spaces. After earning his BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2003, he relocated to Brooklyn, where his work evolved to incorporate found materials and elements of urban decay, reflecting on themes of change and resilience.

Glass’s work often juxtaposes natural and industrial motifs, creating a sense of tension and harmony that invites viewers to reconsider their relationship with the environment.
