Klaxons Profile Image

Klaxons

Klaxons are a British indie rock band formed in London in 2005, renowned for spearheading the "new rave" movement that swept through the UK music scene in the mid-2000s. The core lineup consists of Jamie Reynolds (vocals, bass), James Righton (vocals, keyboards), and Simon Taylor-Davis (guitar), with drummer Steffan Halperin joining in later years. Drawing inspiration from a diverse array of musical genres, Klaxons blend elements of rock, electronic, dance, and punk, creating an energetic and genre-defying sound marked by frenetic beats, psychedelic synths, and anthemic choruses.

Their debut album, "Myths of the Near Future," released in 2007, won the prestigious Mercury Prize and produced acclaimed singles such as "Golden Skans" and "Gravity's Rainbow," firmly establishing them as pioneers of their era. Noted for their dynamic live performances and visually striking aesthetic, Klaxons continued to evolve their sound with subsequent releases including "Surfing the Void" (2010) and "Love Frequency" (2014), exploring more electronic and experimental territories. Celebrated for their boundary-pushing vision and influential role in contemporary British music, Klaxons remain a distinctive voice in the landscape of modern indie and electronic rock.
