La Roux is the stage name of British singer, songwriter, and producer Elly Jackson, who emerged in the late 2000s as a key figure in the synth-pop revival. Born on March 12, 1988, in London, England, Jackson grew up surrounded by music, influenced by her mother, actress Trudie Goodwin, and an upbringing steeped in creative energy. Drawing inspiration from electronic pop pioneers like Depeche Mode, Yazoo, and Prince, La Roux fuses icy synth textures with melodic sensibilities.

The project originally began as a duo, with Jackson partnering with producer Ben Langmaid.
