Mike Simonetti

Mike Simonetti is an American musician, DJ, and producer known for his influential role in the evolution of underground dance and electronic music. Hailing from the New York metropolitan area, Simonetti first rose to prominence in the late 1990s and early 2000s, co-founding the iconic Troubleman Unlimited label, which became a pivotal force in the experimental punk, indie rock, and noise scenes. He later co-founded Italians Do It Better with Johnny Jewel, playing a crucial part in popularizing the nu-disco and synth-driven sound that would come to define acts such as Chromatics and Glass Candy.

Renowned for his eclectic DJ sets that blend disco, house, post-punk, and industrial, Simonetti has also made his mark as a remixer and solo artist, releasing music under his own name as well as aliases like Pale Blue. His output reflects a lifelong passion for crate-digging and genre-blurring, with releases on respected imprints including 2MR, a label he co-founded to champion innovative leftfield dance and electronic music.
