Shira Kela

Shira Kela is an emerging interdisciplinary artist whose evocative work explores memory, identity, and the boundaries between the natural and constructed world. Born in 1992 in Jerusalem, Israel, Kela spent her formative years immersed in both urban landscapes and rural environments, a duality that continues to inspire her practice. She holds a BFA from Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, where she specialized in mixed media installation and printmaking, and later completed her MFA at Goldsmiths, University of London.

Kela’s work weaves together drawing, sculpture, digital media, and found objects to create immersive installations that invite viewers to reconsider their relationship to space and materiality. Her recent projects delve into themes of displacement and belonging, often referencing personal narratives alongside collective histories. Kela’s exhibitions include solo and group shows in Tel Aviv, Berlin, London, and New York, and her pieces are held in private collections internationally.

In addition to her studio practice, Kela is an active educator and community organizer, committed to fostering dialogue through art and participatory projects.
