Steven Julien, also known under his former alias Funkineven, is a British DJ, producer, and label owner hailing from West London. Raised in a musically rich environment, Julien’s upbringing was soundtracked by jazz, soul, rare groove, and early UK dance styles—formative influences that later shaped his distinctive musical approach. Emerging onto the scene in the late 2000s, he quickly garnered attention with a string of releases for the influential Eglo Records imprint, blending house, funk, electro, and broken beat with raw analogue soul.
