Bibio is the recording alias of Stephen Wilkinson, a British musician and producer from the West Midlands, United Kingdom. Emerging in the mid-2000s, Bibio quickly established himself as a distinctive voice in the electronic and folk scenes, blending lo-fi textures, intricate guitar work, and playful sampling. Debuting with “fi” in 2005 on Mush Records, he later signed to Warp Records, where albums like “Ambivalence Avenue” and “A Mineral Love” received critical acclaim for their inventive fusion of folk melodies, glitchy beats, soul influences, and subtle field recordings.

Bibio’s music is characterized by its warm, nostalgic atmosphere, drawing inspiration from rural English landscapes, vintage recording techniques, and personal nostalgia. Over his diverse discography, Bibio has collaborated with artists such as Olivier St. Louis and has remixed tracks for the likes of Bonobo, Clark, and Boards of Canada.
